Are fetuses/babies concieved from "gifts from God"?

@ the phantom - you say - St. Augustine of Hippo once wrote, "God allows evil to exist so even in this, good may come of it" - what a cop out, why have evil at all, lets just have the good, it is inexcusable for any god to allow the ual abuse, torture and murder of babies, as upsetting as this is these things happen in the world and they continue to do so.
