Please help me with fixing English grammatical errors?

There is the argument about whether it is fair for these universities to lower the bar for needy rural students. People who oppose this reform claim that this practice would disallow some students who have better marks than the rural students to attend school. This may be true to some extent; however, the government should give priority to the stabilization of the society. It is indisputable that the gap between the rich and the poor jeopardizes the development of society and gives rise to social unrest, and that this has caused a number of crimes every year. To solve these social problems, we must form effective laws that allow the poor to advance their educations. In this way, we can fundamentally bridge the gap between the poor and the rich and maintain our social well-being.
